PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:
CAPA- Youth Sports Performance Program (13+yrs) & Warrior Tribe (5-12yrs)

Warrior Tribe – Kids 5-12yrs

This program is awesome! We have packed an array of workouts, movement based games and reward systems into this revolutionary program; a FUN, cognition, motor control and movement development program encouraging fitness and abilities.

In today’s society, our children are moving less and less, with obesity and metabolic disease becoming more and more prevalent at younger ages, so this program helps in teaching the fun and benefits of regular movement while also setting them up to be healthy, and creating positive life habits.

Perhaps you have a young child and you want them to have FUN while learning about health, fitness and healthy eating, maybe even wear them down a little after a day sitting in school or perhaps you just wish to give them somewhere safe to play and socialise whilse exercising.

Maybe you worry about someone precious as they lack co-ordination, confidence, self-esteem, balance and general play and sporting skills; you are worried they will be that child that is “ALWAYS” ovelooked for the sports team or when friends choose teams at school, and the very thought of it breaks your heart.

We have tailored our Warrior Tribe classes to building the skills that your precious one needs to feel confident and capable in general play and sport.  Your child will grow to understand the value of a healthy lifestyle, learn about healthy eating and teamwork, improve their base strength and fitness, be taught correct body mechanics, all while learning character building leadership skills as they are given an opportunity to lead their group.

Children will have the opportunity to challenge themselves if they choose and earn merit braclets.

Sessions include:
  • Speed & Agility Development
  • Anaerobic and Aerobic conditioning
  • Balance Training
  • Core Strengthening
  • Total body strengthening (calisthenics)
  • Injury prevention exercises
  • Nutritional education
  • Team building & FUN!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is Lifting Weights Bad for My Child?

The answer is NO. The old saying that ”lifting weights will stunt your growth” was proven to be a myth in 2001 by the American Academy of Pediatrics. That being said, we will only be working on your child being able to support and move their own body wieght and the weight of objects the regularly use carry or play with. Sadly many children these days cannot support their own body weight in bodyweight play. Children and adolescents can participate in strength training programs provided that they are supervised by a certified fitness professional, programs are appropriate to the childs strength, age and abilities, and the child has the emotional maturity to accept and follow directions. By focusing on your child’s form and coordination whentraining, Warrior Tribe prepares your child to perform at his or her best.

What happens in Class?

Every session starts with a complete warm-up, followed by a body strengthening and cardio conditioning circuit, we will challenge balance and then finish with a fun-filled fitness game to ensure that everyone has a great time and a stretch down!!

So what are you waiting for, it’s time to start enrolling your kids! But you better hurry, space is limited.

CAPA ~ Coffs Athletic Performance Academy – from 12+ yrs (High School Students)

This is an awesome athletic & sports development program, also catering for youths with general fitness goals.

We know what it takes to make you better at your chosen sport. We also know that better does not necessarily mean training and working harder, instead, you need to train and work smarter!  After all, there are only so many hours in a week and there needs to be life balance.

No matter your sport or your sporting goals, foundations remains the same across all sports; the need to become stronger and more stable, to develop fast reactions, to move efficiently and effectively loaded and unloaded in multi-directions, the need to remain injury-free and have the stamina for the activity at hand.

CAPA’s youth athletic training programs are available in a group setting, but we can customise a plan for you that may be, or can include 1-to-1 sessions if desired.

All sessions relate specifically to sport and survival skills and focus on building speed, strength, explosive power, endurance, cognition and reactive thinking. We will work on mobility and flexibility while teaching recovery and training schedule management.

To prevent injury we not only need great mobility, flexibility and recovery, we also need to target and strengthen key stabilising muscle groups to enhance the body’s resilience to injury. We also need to teach young athletes how to improve recovery, after both training and competition, along with educating them on how to fuel their bodies safely and correctly.

Kids who show some athletic prowess; perhaps they have some sports skills many other kids don’t have yet,  are often pressured by Coaches to “specialise” and commit to more training – and in that sport alone. Coaches want the best for their team, which sadly oftentimes, is not what’s best for your child. Early specialisation is linked with higher rates of patellofemoral knee pain, Osgood-Schlatter and Sinding Larsen-Johansson Syndrome; especially in female adolescents.

Did you know that in the Super Bowl Competition of 2016/2017 (the time of writing this), of the entire competition draft, only 6 players specialized in only 1 sport their entire adolescent life!

How do we keep our kids playing strong and injury free?  We have the answer!

Science has proven that kids need variety, and those that continually develop stronger overall skills in speed, strength, explosive power, endurance, cognition and reactive thinking will carry those skills through multi-sports and enjoy greater sporting success.

Sessions include:
  • Speed & Agility Development
  • Anaerobic and Aerobic conditioning
  • Balance Training
  • Core Strengthening
  • Total body strengthening – power, callisthenics, endurance
  • Exercise and sporting movement techniques
  • Injury prevention exercises
  • Mobility & Flexibility
  • Nutritional education
  • Team building & FUN

Cheryl was Interview for the local Focus magazine and had this to say about her training and experience under Tracy’s guidance. Hi Cheryl; What was your reason to seek Specialist Coaching with Tracy? Mainly concern about a niggly shoulder and fear of it becoming a worsening and/or long-term problem. I was aware that there were other things that needed targeting, such as posture, flexibility and strength. Also, there were specific ... Read More
